My New Love: Making Icons & Headers

I know I have been slacking since I got back from New York, but I have been doing things. These things actually happen to be blog related, just not blog posts. Yes, you see making icons and headers for friends has become a new obsession. It's quick, fun, and easy, how can I not love it?

So I though I would show off some of the junk I made! I hope you are as proud of me as I am of my junk!

These are the pretty icons:

It all started with the Korianne Speaks one on the end. You see, I didn't design my blog, a nice lady named Nykki did (link in the left side bar) and I didn't want to bug her anymore for an icon, so I just made it myself. I used an image I had already been using and edited it on picnik to be a sepia tone and include polka dots and my blog name.

Then a few months ago I officially launched my Oh, Cupcake! Handmade shop. It's just bookmarks for right now, but I needed a logo. I came up with the two you see above.

Just a while back this round of @tweet_fest started and since there was an official twitter account it needed it's own official icon.

This is the point where I sort of went crazy. I decided that anyone on twitter who didn't have an icon needed one. The icons above (with the exception of Emma's) were born and launched on twitter. Then I got to thinking, I could design headers and things. This could be fun.

I made the gang that hosted Teen Author Carnival t-shirts, and since Mitali from Alley of Books didn't have an official icon or header I made this to go on her t-shirt.

Then my lovely friend Emma (The Sekrit Sister on Five Awesome YA Fans) whom the icon above was created for needed a header for her up and coming blog. I made this and helped her find a background to match on The Cutest Blog On The Block. I think Booking Through 365 looks really elegant.

Then I was bored, and Max from FiveAwesomeYAFans had just launched her new blog. I knew Max was just getting the hang of things so I decided to help her by making a header. I know starting a blog is hard, so having one less thing to worry about is nice. Go check out Bibliobibluli, it is off to an awesome start!

As I was creating the headers for Emma & Max I got to thinking. I figured I might be able to make a header for myself too, but I didn't want to change my blog layout. I have been wanting to start a blog for Oh, Cupcake! Handmade, so I created this header just for fun. Then I got the url and made a pretty new blog. I am not sure when it will be launched yet, but at least I got the first step out of the way.

Then I have been wanting to create a separate blog where I tell what contests I am entering through out the month. I enter a lot of contests, so it gets hard to post all of them on the blog. This is the perfect solution. I think I will be launching Korianne Loves Contests in July.

Then tonight when I was chatting with Devyn he not so subtly mentioned that he needed a header for his new author blog. He found an image in the stock photos on Deviant Art and I just tweaked it and added text. This is the finished product. I like the creepy feel of Cursed Telegram. It suits Devyn, not that he's creepy or anything... tee hee!

I was bored a few days ago and I volunteered to make a new header for the YA Blog Newsletter. This is what I came up with. Ashley hasn't informed me if they will be using it yet since I just emailed it too her, but fingers crossed she likes it.

That is all I have for you today. Regularly scheduled posts will be back next week.
