TBR Tuesday - Lament by Maggie Stiefvater (Emma Saves My Butt By Guest Posting)

Hiya! No, this is not Korianne. This is her insane friend named Emma. She is letting me guest blog for the night because she is crazy busy with studying and I love to blog and shamelessly self promote so this works out well for the both of us. Before I dive into the TBR part of this post, I’d like to share some facts about me.
  1. I am one of two sekrit sisters for the FiveAwesomeYAFans. (Kori being the second, we’re trying to figure out a new title).
  2. I met Kori from twitter one night when she @replied me and we started chatting. We’ve talked ever since!
  3. My favorite series of all time is called The Gemma Doyle Trilogy. It’s amazing. Read it. READ IT NOW.
  4. Kori and I both enjoy names. In fact, as I write this, we are discussing our future childrens’ names. Whenever I attempt to write a story (since I like to write) Kori is always there to help me pick an original name.
  5. (Yes, it’s time for me to shamelessly self promote!) I’m attempting to read a book a day (currently failing) and I have a blog all about it. If you’re interested it’s called Booking Through 365. (Kori actually created the name. And the header too)!

Okay, now for the To Be Read book of the week!

Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand - one who can see faeries. Deirdre finds herself infatuated with a mysterious boy who enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of thin air. Trouble is, the enigmatic and gorgeous Luke turns out to be a gallowglass - a soulless faerie assassin. An equally hunky - and equally dangerous - dark faerie soldier named Aodhan is also stalking Deirdre. Sworn enemies, Luke and Aodhan each have a deadly assignment from the Faerie Queen. Namely, kill Deirdre before her music captures the attention of the Fae and threatens the Queen's sovereignty. Caught in the crossfire with Deirdre is James, her wisecracking but loyal best friend. Deirdre had been wishing her life weren't so dull, but getting trapped in the middle of a centuries-old faerie war isn't exactly what she had in mind . . .

I first heard of this book when I was talking to Maggie L Wood. author of Princess Pawn. We were discussing what we were reading and she said she needed to read her friend’s book. I looked it up on goodreads and being a lover of faeries (not fairies, mind you) I decided to pick it up when I went to the book store. It sounds really good and my friend Kristen adored it so I’ll take her word for it. I love it when authors incorporate music into their books, so I’m sure I’ll like this one. Also, it sounds like it has pretty hot romance in it. What’s not to love?

I’d just like to say thanks to Kori for letting me guest blog! I hope some of you come and visit my own blog, I’d love to see you guys there! (See, I shamelessly self promote. Told you.) Thank you, and I hope this blog wasn’t SO below Kori’s usual standards.

EMMA OUT.

Fun fact: The entire time Emma was writing this, Kori and her were discussing the crazy characters living inside their heads.

{Note: Korianne loves Emma. She was so kind to agree to do this. As you know from yesterday math and uterus will no doubt take me under, but oh well!}

  1. Hahaha. I love how Emma has JUST barely caught up on her blog and then BAM she's guest posting on yours Kori! How lazy you are girl! Haha, jk. You know I <3 you.

    And yes, Emma, READ IT! I'd give you the second, but it's signed to me... and I will keep it forever. Actually, I need to read the second *runs away*.

  2. Kristen: Emma offered to help! I am so behind with school stuff so I needed to get caught up. It ends later this week so I should be much better when it's done. Oh, and I am sorry I have had like no time to work on you blog layout!

    Also, I covet both Lament & Ballad! I myself do not own them!

    Nice guest blog Em. I am extending a hand for you to do a guest blog on my blog someday. I'm in the works of creating a guest slot. But I haven't but enough thought into it yet.
