Nice finds at the garage sales! I gave up on them because I never found anything cool. I think I just live in a very un-cool area cause everyone else always has better luck than me.

So many books! I'm jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also really jealous of your camera finds. I'm a bit of a photography geek myself (though I've been neglecting lately, mostly because of work and soon to be school..) and I really want to one day learn how to shoot with older cameras. They also just make really nice decoration, I find. :)
The free book pile seems so cool. I wish we had something like that here.
ReplyDeleteMy mom's boyfriend has vintage cameras from the 20's-60's and some still work. But the flim is really hard to find.
ReplyDeleteLots of cool books, too.
Amber: You sort of have to just look really hard! I had a really good day Saturday but lots of times I don't. You also have to be creative. Sometimes something won't be exactly what you want it to be. That's where paint & glue & lots of diy love come in. You can find some awesome things when you never thought you would. Also, if garage sales don't seem to be doing the trip do you have a vintage or thrift store in your area? You might check those out.
ReplyDeleteMichieBee: I neglect my photography too. I haven't taken a SINGLE artful photo since my class was over. Just a few snap shots mainly for twitter, but that's it. Most of the cameras I bought won't work with out a little fixing, which is why I am using them as decoration. In total I have about 20 and only one photo camera and one movie camera work. I have my digital but I also use a Canon 35mm SLR. She's a bute. Patsy (the camera) was my Mom's wedding gift from her parents. She's in flawless condition because my Mom barely used her but kept her in excellent shape. You can get them cheap on Amazon or Ebay but if you do buy one MAKE SURE that the lenses aren't scratched. Totally ruins your pictures. Maybe you can find a class on film cameras at your college. I had a blast in high school.
Thao: It is really neat. I am happy my school does it.
Sarah: Very cool! Yeah, film can be hard to find. My first camera's film isn't made anymore. We have to special order it from a vintage buyer if we want it. Most of my cameras no longer work, but they certainly look cool. I have a few old Brownies and I think they are by far the coolest looking. Does her boyfriend know lots about photography?
Nice IMM, I had a rubbish week
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed FNL! It really is one of the best shows ever!
ReplyDeleteThe Book Bug: Thanks. My upcoming week seems to want to be rubbish.
ReplyDeleteprophecygirl: Yes! Tis awesome!
